CUA41120 Short Course in Advanced Photography  

A selection of units from the Cert IV in Photography & Digital Imaging

Duration: 6 months
Level: Advanced – to gain entry, students must hold a Certificate III in Visual Arts  (photography) or have strong existing photography skills.
Delivery: Part-time – 3 hours, 1 evening per week in Geelong & Ballarat, plus location workshops

This course is intended to be undertaken as a continuation/top-up to the Cert III in Visual arts (photography), students can gain direct entry into the course but they must be competent in the use of DSLR cameras, Lightroom and Photoshop. The Program allows you to develop as a multi-skilled photographer via a unique blend of studio and live photography training applications. By providing ongoing access to studios and equipment, the course ensures that your skills are matched to ‘real’ photography industry vocational opportunities.

This course is ideally targeted towards people who are seeking employment as a photographer’s assistant, studio assistant or those who wish to develop their skills to the next level. Once you have completed the Short Course in Advanced Photography, it would be hoped you would also have the skills to start contracting your services as a photographer.

*Please note this is not a full Certificate IV in Photography. This is a short course, comprising of units made up from the Certificate IV in Photography and Photo Imaging unit bank.

  • Gain the skills and understanding of workflow from image capture to final print

In order to enter this course, students are required to have access to:

  • Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera (DSLR)
  • Colour printer
  • Computer and Internet
  • Access to Adobe Photoshop
